Is Blogging for Everyone?
It takes a massive long term commitment to keep your blog up to date. Without a love for writing on a daily basis, then consider a static website. With the advent of great tools like the Thesis Theme, the blogging platform is being used to create static websites.
Basically, WordPress and Thesis are replacing web development tools like Dream Weaver. Of course, an experienced web designer will do far more with Dream Weaver than with Thesis, but for the rest of us – and newcomers on the scene – the Thesis Theme is fast becoming an extremely economical way to create blogs, and as mentioned, basic websites.

The great thing about using Thesis to create a static website is that you can easily attach a blog to it. For example, create your 3 or 4 page website around your topic and optimize your site and the page as a static website. Then, create a blogging extension of your website all from within WordPress.
To use Thesis, you must have your own ftp site with SQL database. I offer a service to show you how if you’re interested, just visit the about page. Your site and blog is actually hosted on your own server. The static website is consistent and the content does not change much at all, unless you want to update things a little from time to time. So is Blogging for You? Only if your desire is to jump into the sea of daily writing. You have to love it, or you will give up after a while. If your desire is to make money online, DO NOT START WITH A BLOG. The process is much too long – of course, you could get lucky or hit just the right social consciousness about at particular topic.

On a final note, I should clarify my comments about making money using the process of blogging. Yes, it can be done, but there are easier ways. Blog only because you want to. Not to make money. Regardless of what side of the argument you come out on, I still believe Blogging can be an integral part of any online business. And as I’ve referred to, there are ways to make from your existing blog or any new venture you are embarking on.
